My name doesn't mean much, as far as I know. It means hilarity in older languages, and represents a shining, laughing child. My parents liked it, I guess. My mom is 100% Polish and my dad is 100% German. My grandparents tell me there's some Russian in there somewhere, but we haven't found it yet. All of my grandparents are still alive. My dad's parents were born in the U.S. and my mom's parents moved here after World War One. They lived through the Great Depression, and my grandfathers both fought in World War Two. They don't talk about it much. I have distant relatives in Germany and Poland, though I've never had a chance to meet them. My father's family was traced back to 15th century nobles that lived in Frankfurt, and I think the estate is still there. I've never learned much about them though. It seems that the story of my family started when they moved to America. Everything and everyone that came before is just a part of their memories.
